 Science Policy Group at Berkeley

Join the Science Policy Group at Berkeley for a moderated discussion on the scientific ethics surrounding housing and wildfires.

This panel will discuss the policy issues surrounding housing, wildfires, and where we should be building.

We hope to explore questions such as:

Should we be building in wildfire-prone areas?
Should we rebuild cities like Paradise?
Should we be giving out money to retrofit for fire safety or encouraging people to move away?
Are policies over-focused on fuel management (forest thinning)?

In addition, join us the following week for our Policy Roundtable (December 4, Tan Hall 5:30- 7:30) where we will draft white papers and policy memos regarding this topic.

Pizza will be provided!
