[Peterson Speaker Series] Leading the Pack: How Companies are Collaborating to Tackle Plastic Packaging Waste
Panel Discussion | April 18 | Haas School of Business, Spieker Forum, Chou Hall
According to the EPA, containers and packaging make up a major portion of municipal solid waste (MSW), amounting to 77.9 million tons of generation in 2015. The issue of plastic packaging waste is a complex, universal issue. Our culture of throwaway disposables has led to an increasingly alarming rate of environmental consequences.
Join us for a Peterson Speaker Series with key industry players collaborating to overcome our reliance on plastic packaging and the resulting waste.
This special Peterson Speaker Series will set the stage for the final presentations of the 2019 Patagonia Case Competition taking place at Berkeley Haas on Friday, 4/19. As part of their mission to "save our home planet", Patagonia draws inspiration from young minds through the Patagonia Case Competition. This year's case topic, reducing packaging waste, has industry transformative potential.
