This year, for UC Berkeley's annual open house - CalDay 2019 - we here at the English Department are taking the opportunity to invite you, our alumni, back into the intellectual community of the department. Weve put together a full day of events designed to immerse you in the experience of what its like to study English at Cal today, and we would love to see you there!

Poetic Ecology and Industrial Revolution

Teaching Latinx Literature at Berkeley

What is Latinx literature anyway? What does the "X" in Latinx stand for? Is the literature written in English or Spanish? Who are some of the best-known authors? Associate Professor Marcial González will answer these and other questions as he shares his experiences teaching Latinx literature in the Department of English.
