Sandeep Jauhar: Doctor, Writer, Physicist

Dr. Sandeep Jauhar will talk about how his amazing path from experimental condensed-matter physics to med school to bestselling author started at Berkeley.

Jauhar is a cardiologist and director of the Heart Failure Program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. After graduating from Berkeley with a Ph.D. in physics, Jauhar went to medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. He has written three books: "Intern, ""Doctored," and his newest, "Heart: A History." His newest book was named by NPR as one fo the best science books of 2018 and was the PBS Newshour's book of the month in January 2019. Jauhar writes regularly for "The New York Times" and his work has been featured in "TIME," "The Wall Street Journal" and the "New England Journal of Medicine."
