Farm Lunch! Students organize for food sovereignty!

Miscellaneous | December 7 | 12-3 p.m. |  UC Gill Tract Community Farm

 Campus Gardens

Students are at the heart of Berkeley's efforts to provide local, organic, and sustainability grown food to community members in need. In order to strengthen our relationships and foster new ones, we must come together in compassionate dialogue and learn from each other. In particular, the Gill Tract Community Farm needs the continued support of students in order to thrive. AND, the farm can be a vital resource for student groups, initiatives, gardens, and projects. We need to work together!

On Friday, December 7th the Gill Tract will host an organizing meeting for students on campus with farm fresh lunch. The intention for this gathering is to bring together students working on our local food system: gardeners, scientists, nutritionists, coöpers, designers, artists, and more! How can we co-create a food system at Berkeley that reflects our connection to the Earth and promotes genuine sustainability and social justice?

12:00 - 1:00 PM: Guided discussion on sharing resources between student organizations and initiatives for Food Justice
1:00 - 2:00 PM: Lunch. With presentations from Gill Tract Farm Interns and other students spaces about current projects.
2:00 - 3:00: Continuity documentation and knowledge-sharing! A co-working session to ensure that student knowledge of our local food system is secured!, 510-292-3418
