Brian is a PhD candidate in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. In the interview, Brian talks about his PhD work on the engagement and development of brain science in the mid-nineteenth century and the development of the Russian novel. Brian also discusses Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, and the overlap between literature and science.
