The Berkeley Postdoc Entrepreneur Program (BPEP) and OPEN (Opportunities for Postdoc Equity Networking) is proud to host the upcoming panel discussion on July 27th, 2017, in Stanley Hall (Room 105) at UC Berkeley:

Seed investing is much more an art than a science. However, recent studies on the founder characteristics that make a startup succeed have revealed that companies with a female founder performed over 60% better than the companies with all-male founding teams. These findings assert that fomenting a gender diverse startup team is essential to high-performing investments.

BPEP and OPEN aim to raise awareness among the entrepreneurial community of the importance of increasing women in leadership positions. Our prestigious panel consists of three women who are at different stages of their entrepreneurship path. These panelists will discuss their experiences and insights as founders and leaders operating in the exciting and oftentimes unpredictable world of start-ups. Some of the topics that will be covered include:

- Paths to entrepreneurship

- Gender factors in high-tech entrepreneurship compared with academia

- Advantages of gender diverse teams and women leadership styles

At this event, we will also launch the first ever Cal Female Postdoc Mentoring Pilot Program. Please join us and our panelists for what is set to be an insightful and hopefully inspiring evening. We encourage you to explore our panelists biographical vignettes and schedule below.
