Student Harmonic Analysis and PDE Seminar (HADES): The Use of Bellman Functions in Holder-Brascamp-Lieb Inequalities

Holder-Brascamp-Lieb inequalities represent a wide range of inequalities in analysis, including Young's convolution inequality, the Loomis-Whitney inequality, and more. In a 2015 paper, Ivanisvili and Volberg analyze the "rank one" case of such inequalities in which $L^p$ norms are subbed out for Bellman functions. This talk will contain introduction to all the above, as well as some of the speaker's own research in the area, including a necessary and sufficient condition for certain new inequalities.
