Institute of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ISEEES), Slavic Literature "Kruzhok", Townsend Center for the Humanities

Kirill Feliksevich Medvedev is a Russian poet, translator, and political activist, as well as member of the rock group Arkadii Kots. Join Medvedev for a reading of his poems and a general discussion on the current political climate in Russia. Born in Moscow, Medvedev’s work delves fiercely into the political apathy of contemporary Russian society and especially the country’s cultural intelligentsia. Today he also runs a small press, the Free Marxist Publishing House, and is an active participant in the Russian labor movement. His collection of poems and essays titled “Its No Good” has been published in English by n+1 and Ugly Duckling Press, most recently in spring 2016.

Please note that the event will be held in Russian.
