DCRP Lecture: Atul Pokharel, Planning for Fairness

Atul Pokharel is a Postdoctoral Fellow in International and Public Affairs at Brown University. He studies the comparative political economy of infrastructure governance, both digital and physical. His first book examined the role of fairness in the maintenance of shared physical infrastructure commons.

Atul's research interests include the governance of digital infrastructure such as free and open source software, ways to improve crowd sourced data for use by public agencies after disasters and the "greening" of transportation systems in global cities.

He holds a PhD in Urban Studies and Planning from MIT and a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Princeton University.
