Film synopsis...Sonita relates the story of an 18-year old Afghan refugee in Iran who considers Michael Jackson and Rihanna her "spiritual parents" and aspires to big-time rap fame. Unwavering commitment to creative self-actualization CAN BE a form of resilience in the face of arranged marriage, poverty, and displacement.
