Winner of Best Documentary Short Academy Award and directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi, the film documents the story of a rural village in India, where a group of women band together to install and operate a sanitary padmaking machine, combating the crushing stigma of menstruation, improving accessibility of sanitary products, and discovering newfound independence and hope for a better future.

After the film, a panel of MCAH researchers and experts will discuss themes related to reproductive rights, adolescent health, and economic empowerment, globally and domestically.
