Special Event | April 26 | 7-11:50 p.m. | Sutardja Dai Hall, 310 Banatao Auditorium
IBM invites you to attend a special Call for Code Hackathon on Friday, April 26 Saturday, April 27. IBM is challenging university students to develop solutions for disaster response and resilience in partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGIU). The timing could not be more critical. In 2018, natural disasters caused an estimated $155 billion in economic loss, impacting people around the globe. What if technology could help improve these figures? Thats exactly what Call for Code is setting out to do. It asks developers to work out how to use AI, Blockchain, Cloud, Data, and IoT technologies most effectively to improve communities disaster preparedness and resiliency.
During IBMs Call for Code Hackathon, you will harness modern, emerging, and open source technologies, and IBM technical experts will engage with you to help bring your ideas to life. Students from winning teams will receive cash prizes and have the opportunity to participate in CGIUs annual meeting to highlight their work and raise the profile of effective natural disaster response and resilience efforts.
