Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry through Macaulay2: How does Macaulay2 compute things?

Seminar | March 21 | 3:45-5 p.m. | 939 Evans Hall | Canceled

 Mahrud Sayrafi, UC Berkeley

 Department of Mathematics

We begin with a quick discussion about the organization and topics of this mini-seminar.

Then, I will talk about the basic computational methods of M2: monomial orders, Gröbner bases, syzygetic computations, and free resolutions. Plenty of examples will be provided for each case.
