Polaroid Stories: TDPS Theater Production

Performing Arts - Theater | March 12 | 2-4 p.m. |  Zellerbach Playhouse

Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies

Based on real life stories of street kids, and drawing from Ovid’s Metamorphoses myths, Naomi Iizuka’s Polaroid Stories blends poetry and profanity to explore how young people pushed to the edge of society come to understand their lives amid anger, love both lost and found, violence, homelessness, ambition, and addiction.

Jeffrey Kahane

Performing Arts - Music | March 12 | 3 p.m. |  Hertz Concert Hall

 Cal Performances

Jeffrey Kahane's recitals consistently enthrall: here he matches new and recent works by young composers, including his son Gabriel Kahane and Timo Andres—whose work was last heard in February 2016 in a premiere by the Takács Quartet—with Schubert's opulent Fantasie sonata, which Schumann hailed as Schubert's "most perfect in form and conception."
