Islamic World Papermaking

Join artist Radha Pandey for a short lecture and demonstration of traditional papermaking from the Islamic world. Then, tour the Asian Art Museum’s collection with a special focus on works on paper. This workshop includes the demonstration, gallery tour, curriculum resources and a light breakfast. Presented in partnership with UC Berkeley Office of Resources for International and Area Studies.

Our annual tradition returns with a lovely botanical tea in honor of Valentine’s Day. Enjoy a celebration of herbs and flowers at this educational walk and tea party, with a special opportunity to collect for our make-your-own tea party snacks and garden drinks. Finish the fun by making valentines from pressed botanicals to take home.

What is it like to live underwater? How does it feel to warm yourself on a rock? Get an introduction to the living world by meeting small mammals, reptiles, and arthropods. In the Critter Corner, which is perfect for ages 8 and under, you can observe how animals move, feel, and eat. Read stories and role-play with toy animals and habitats so that you can better understand animal life.
