Home/Land(s) Film Screening and Discussion

Film - Short | April 30 | 7:30 p.m. | D-37 Hearst Field Annex

The Multicultural Community Center

The Multicultural Community Center will be hosting the premier screening of 7 short films created by the participants of the Home/Land(s) Project. The screening will be followed by a series of discussions regarding the filmmaking process and next steps.

Home/Land(s) itself is a short film project that explores and presents concepts, lived realities and the multiplicity of experiences of students at Cal in connection with physical and/or metaphysical home(s), land(s), and homeland(s). These are not limited to projects on physical, spatial or specific geographies, but also push beyond the definitions of locations. It incorporates works on transnational movements, displacements, family, historically situated experiences, world-making and many other topics.

We hope that you can join us in celebrating this semester-long process and take the opportunity to engage with us so that we can continue to build and maintain a positive learning space.

Filmmakers include:

Paula Kahn
Preyanka Kataria Gulati
Tommy Statkiewicz
Pristine Shin
Araceli Argueta
Mars Rosas
Jimmy Zhang
