After making his West Coast recital debut at Cal Performances in 2010, British pianist Nicolas Hodges returns in a wide-ranging program that includes the world premiere of Gigue Machine by towering British composer Harrison Birtwistle (a new work co-commissioned by Cal Performances in partnership with Carnegie Hall); a gigue by Mozart; both books of Debussy’s Etudes; and Stravinsky’s Three Movements from Pétrouchka.
