Grammy Award-winning pianist Emanuel Ax—celebrated soloist, Juilliard faculty member and duo partner of Yo-Yo Ma and Isaac Stern—takes the Zellerbach Hall stage to perform two early sonatas by Beethoven (the “Pathétique” and Op. 2, No. 2) and Schubert’s tragic B-flat major sonata, the composer’s profound, final musical utterance.

A pre-performance talk scheduled in the performance venue one hour before curtain provide enjoyable insights to your concert-going experience. These half-hour talks are free to event ticket holders.
