The 9th Annual Berkeley World Music Festival showcases Bay Area’s
finest world music artist in continuous performances Noon – 9 pm
outdoors in Telegraph Avenue cafes near UC campus. The featured
People’s Park concert presents six-time Grammy nominee Maria Muldaur
with Bluesiana Band (Blues, R & B, + Funk), Bay Area’s premiere Band
leader Fito Reinoso with Ritmo y Armonia and Druid Sister’s Tree
Party (Celtic Gypsy fusion). Whether it’s Patrick Landeza (Hawaiian
slack key guitar), Trio Garufa (Argentine Tango), Bouchaib Abdelhadi
(No. African & Sufi), Duo Gadjo (French Gypsy Jazz), Ultra World X-
tet (Asian Jazz Fusion), Fely Tchaco (AfroPop & Ivory Coast Rhythms),
Baron Rubenbauer (Neo-classical / Spain to India) and street
performances by Sadza Marimba & Mbira (Zimbabwean Dance Music),
Simcha (Klezmer), and world accordion artist Alex Yaskin there’s
