All continuing students and scholars planning to re-enter the U.S. need a travel signature on their I-20s (F-1) or DS-2019s (J-1) from an Adviser at Berkeley International Office given within the past 12 months. We recommend you get a "fresh" travel endorsement if your current one is older than 10 months, just in case. F-1 students on OPT must have a travel endorsement on their I-20s that is not more than 6 months old. Your documents may already have a valid travel endorsement:
• F-1 Travel endorsements are located at the bottom of page 3 of your most current I-20.
• J-1 travel endorsements are found on the front of the DS-2019 in the lower right corner of the document.
