Performing Arts - Music | April 27 | 8 p.m. | Hertz Concert Hall
Wei Cheng, director
The core of the repertoire is choral-orchestral by German composers Josef Rheinberger, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn and J.S. Bach. It is designed to echo the season of Easter, and traces the developing themes of sacrifice, fate, resurrection, and peace. This core is juxtaposed with a selection of a cappella works by older generation composers Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Antonio Lotti, and Michael Haydn.
