Hosted by Big Ideas, GSVC, LAUNCH, CITRIS and the Banatao Institute Tech for Social Good Program, and the Investing in Inclusion Pitch Competition. Innovators@Cal is an exciting event which fosters collaboration across the UC Berkeley campus. If you have an idea or startup, are looking to form or join a team, or are interested in the entrepreneurship resources available - this event is for you!

Innovators@Cal provides students and student teams with opportunities to advance their ideas and ventures through two-minute pitches as well as through whiteboard sessions where teams can discuss their ideas with audience members, receive feedback, recruit new team members and more! You can sign up to pitch your idea within the event webpage.

The keynote speaker to kick-off the event will be Sasha Orloff; CEO and co-founder of LendUp, a destination for the 56% of Americans shut out or mistreated by traditional financial services. LendUp's ecosystem is designed to promote responsible financial behavior through embedded education, incentives, and exceptional customer service. Sasha is one of the industry's few CEOs with experience serving customers at both ends of the economic spectrum—the bottom and the top one percent.

With offices in San Francisco, CA, and Richmond, VA, LendUp is backed by more than $325 million in debt and equity financing from investors such as GV, Y Combinator, QED Investors, PayPal, Susa Ventures, Data Collective, Thomvest Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Kapor Capital, Bronze Investments, radicle impact, Victory Park Capital, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, Gmail founder Paul Buchheit, Troy Carter, and many others.

Before founding LendUp, Sasha held roles in risk management, finance, online acquisitions, and customer insights on Citi’s consumer credit team, and most recently served as Senior Vice President on Citigroup's Venture Capital team. Earlier in his career, Sasha worked for the Grameen Foundation Technology Center, the World Bank, and a venture-backed startup called Ingenio, which was acquired by AT&T. He has a B.S. in applied math and behavioral psychology from the University of California, San Diego, and an MBA from Georgetown University.
