On September 24, the German people reelected Angela Merkel for her fourth term as Chancellor. At the same time, the AfD (Alternative fuer Deutschland) won 13% of the vote, becoming the first overtly nationalist party to sit in the Bundestag in 60 years. IES Director Jeroen Dewulf and Associate Director Akasemi Newsome will analyze the election results and discuss questions on what the election results mean for Germany and the EU.
