Dr. Michael Eisen is a professor in the Molecular and Cell Biology department at UC Berkeley, and one of the founders of PLOS (Public Library of Science). In addition to his achievements, he intends to compete for the California Senate seat in 2018. SLAM and Michael aim to have a fruitful conversation about establishing yourself as a prominent science communicator, and about reaching out to new audiences to promote and present scientific research to public.
