Drop by our art study centers on Free First Thursday and get an up-close view of some of the treasures of the BAMPFA collections, laid out on the five tables in the seminar area. On view in this session: Erica Lennard’s stunning photographs of Marly-le-Roi, Shodenji, and the Li Yuan Garden; the eighteenth-century Indian painting Beauties Feeding a Peacock in a Garden; Lan Ying’s monumental hanging scroll Garden Rock;Sébastien Bourdon’s neoclassical engraving Hospito expire advenas (The Works of Mercy: Sheltering the Stranger); Peter Kennedy’s conceptual sound piece A Tree Grows in My Back Garden, and many others.
