On April 12 from 5-8 p.m. in VLSB 2040, Student Environmental Resource Center - SERC at UC Berkeley, Amazon Watch, and International Rivers will be hosting a film screening of the new documentary Belo Monte: After the Flood. Food will be provided.

For seven years, award-winning environmental documentarian Todd Southgate documented the conflicts surrounding Belo Monte – one of the world's most controversial dam projects, built in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon and immortalized the story in this new environmental film. The documentary is directed by Todd and produced with International Rivers, Amazon Watch and Cultures of Resistance.

This screening is organized by the decal Water Activism and Water as a Human Right and is also sponsored by Berkeley Water Group, Friends of the River at UC Berkeley, among other groups.
