We present a recent proof by June Huh and Botong Wang of the Dowling-Wilson conjecture, a classical enumeration problem in projective space which originated from de Bruijn and Erdös. We define the Mobius ring and the Chow ring associated to a configuration of points in \(\mathbb P ^ n\) and discuss one can deduce the conjecture from the classical Hard Lefschetz theorem by walking along simplices, permutahedrons, and cubes with tools from toric geometry.
